If you like mixing busi­ness and ple­asure, then one thing is cer­tain: Kawiarnio-Ksiegarnia Spo­ldziel­nia (Café Book­store “Coope­ra­tive”), that is a cof­fee house and a meeting place in one, is just what you need. Ple­ase do come and check for yourself!

How did it all start – Spo­ldziel­nia in a nutshell

Spo­ldziel­nia was esta­bli­shed thanks to the part­ner­ship of UNDP[1] with two local Lublin orga­ni­za­tions that is Muni­ci­pal Cen­tre for Social Servi­ces in Lublin[2] and Social Coope­ra­tive “Four Seasons”[3] cre­ated by per­sons living in social housing blocks in Lublin.

The place is run by the mem­bers of the lat­ter– men­tio­ned orga­ni­za­tion. Inte­re­stin­gly eno­ugh, all pro­fits it gene­ra­tes are spent solely for social pur­po­ses, e.g. hel­ping social coope­ra­tive mem­bers in return to the open labour market.

On the other hand, Spo­ldziel­nia has an impor­tant mis­sion to ful­fill, namely under­ta­king inspi­ring and unco­nven­tio­nal pro­gram­mes rela­ting to various con­te­xts from human rights, gen­der equ­ality, coun­te­rac­ting social exc­lu­sion, and social eco­no­mics. All of this is com­bi­ned with pro­mo­tion of UN Mil­le­nium Deve­lop­ment Goals (http://www.undp.org/mdg).

What is it exactly?

Spo­ldziel­nia is a place where you can have a cup of cof­fee or tea, plus you can take part in varied cul­tu­ral acti­vi­ties. More­over, we offer you free WiFi service and a col­lec­tion of our mini library. One more thing, while being here do not miss our gal­lery, that is pic­tu­res which hang on the walls. We can assure you that you are going to be enchan­ted by this place. Last but not least, as our custo­mer you do not only sup­port social eco­nomy, but also the idea of Fair Trade[4] since some of the pro­ducts we sell, for instance cof­fees, teas, or cho­co­late bars carry the Fair Trade Mark.
